The invitation

Not every window gets a mountain or the sea. The roof opposite, one branch, the frame itself: plenty to work with. Show the detail that caught your eye. Stay safely indoors and keep addresses and other people's private stuff out of the shot.

The rooftops were what I meant to photograph, but that narrow bit of light on the open window frame kept pulling my eye back. Left it in. I like having a little of the room around the view.

Your frame detail made me step back instead of zooming in. Took in more of my window, and the outside started looking like a picture hanging in the room.

That's what I liked about it too. Cropping it out made the photo feel a bit anonymous.

The bit of frame makes it feel like I'm standing in the room, not just looking at rooftops.
