The invitation

Draw a mug without lifting the pen. The handle might end up bigger than the whole thing. Keep going anyway, then show the drawing. Other objects welcome; neatness isn't the point here.

First step

Put a familiar object in front of you and draw it with one unbroken line.

  1. Put a familiar object in front of you and draw it with one unbroken line.
  2. Keep going through the awkward bits instead of starting over.
  3. Show the drawing, or describe where the line went off course and what it became.

Started at the bottom of a mug and tried not to lift the pen. Somehow the handle is taller than the mug. I can still tell what it is, so I'm leaving the ridiculous handle alone.

Drew a mug with my other hand after seeing your loop. Mine leans so far left it looks like it's listening at a door. The handle is wobbly, but I quite like it.

How did you get from the rim to the handle without doubling back?

Priya Shah

I did double back, down one side. That extra line is probably why the mug looks so lopsided.
